The Park Lake campground and day-use area in the Helena National Forest is closed to visitors starting June 1 while crews repair an earthen dam and regrade the access road, the Forest Service announced.
The closure is authorized under Helena National Forest Order #01-15-12-26-02. No reopening date has been announced. Park Lake is a popular summer destination for Helena families, and the timing — at the front edge of the outdoor recreation season — means visitors should plan to use alternative sites in the Helena National Forest until the work is complete.
Residents can check the Helena National Forest's website or contact the forest's Lincoln or Helena ranger district offices for updates on the closure's duration and the status of nearby recreational areas.
