Four active groundwater certificates have been filed with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation for properties in Lewis and Clark County, state records show.
Vistas at Red Fox Meadows Condo Association holds a certificate for domestic and lawn-and-garden use at a flow rate of 35 gallons per minute, covering 0.34 irrigated acres. Kim Smith Properties LLC holds a separate certificate for multiple domestic use, also at 35 GPM. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management holds a domestic-use certificate at 10 GPM. The Helena Regional Airport Authority holds a commercial-use certificate at 35 GPM.
All four certificates carry active status under the state's water rights system. Groundwater certificates are recorded by the DNRC to document existing water rights tied to wells and other subsurface sources.
