Helena's two varsity softball programs have been on a tear over the past two weeks, with Capital High and Helena High combining for seven wins against one loss during a stretch of away and neutral-site games in April, according to MaxPreps game records. Both squads have shown they can score in volume — and do so away from home.

Capital opened the stretch with a conference road win at Butte on April 14, edging the Bulldogs 7-4. The Bruins then hosted Billings Senior on April 18 and won 8-4, before closing out the stretch with a dominant 20-8 win at Great Falls on April 21. The run gives Capital three consecutive wins heading into the later portion of their spring schedule.

Helena High has been equally sharp. The Bengals opened against Gallatin in Bozeman on April 9 in a tight non-conference game, falling 11-10 in what was their only loss during the stretch. From there, Helena responded with three straight wins: 6-4 over Billings Skyview on April 18, a 10-0 shutout of Billings Senior the same day, and a 13-3 road win at Great Falls on April 21.

With both programs performing well on the road, Helena softball fans will have plenty to watch as the regular season continues. Conference standings implications for both teams will come into clearer focus as May approaches.
