Cohesion Dance Project will present Recollections, an evening-length dance performance by 2026 Spring Artist-in-Residence Nina Murphy, on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16. Admission is free for both performances.
Murphy's work explores themes of repetition, pattern, and recurrence, drawing on nature, daily life, and her own choreographic process. The piece is philosophically informed by the work of 19th-century Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard, who wrote on repetition and recollection as the same movement experienced in opposite directions — repetition as a lived experience in the present, recollection as a return to what has passed.
The residency and performance are part of Cohesion Dance Project's ongoing guest artist program, which brings choreographers to Helena to develop and present new work. Helenas interested in contemporary dance can attend either night at no cost.
