The Myrna Loy is screening ROADLESS, a new Montana-made documentary, on Tuesday, October 27th, with director Robert Lester scheduled for a Q&A following the film. Tickets are $7 to $10.
Lester, a Butte native, is an adventure athlete and digital creator whose previous work includes The Columbia River Canoe Project, a 70-minute documentary that won awards on the festival circuit in 2024. ROADLESS follows in that tradition, exploring Montana's backcountry and the wild, trail-free landscapes that define much of the state's public land character.
The Myrna Loy, Helena's nonprofit arts center on Park Avenue, regularly screens independent and documentary films alongside its theater programming. A Montana-made film with a director willing to take questions afterward is exactly the kind of event the Myrna built its reputation on.
For anyone who spends time in Montana's mountains and wants to see that landscape treated seriously on film — and then talk about it with the person who made it — Tuesday night is the place to be.
