The Delta Hotels by Marriott Helena Colonial is not waiting for the calendar to catch up with the beer. The hotel is hosting an Oktoberfest event on Saturday, October 31, with free admission and a menu of German-inspired food and Hofbräu beer — staged, somewhat deliberately, on the same night as Halloween.
The food menu includes pretzel bites with beer cheese sauce at $10 and a German pork schnitzel — described as a traditional breaded preparation — at $19. Additional menu items were listed in the event promotion but were cut off in available materials. Hofbräu, the Munich brewery with about as much brand recognition in the American Oktoberfest circuit as any German label, will be the featured beer.
The event is open to the public at no cost and is being held at the hotel's on-site food and beverage space. The Delta Colonial is located in downtown Helena, steps from Last Chance Gulch.
