Cohesion Dance Project will present "Recollections," an evening-length dance performance by 2026 Spring Artist-in-Residence Nina Murphy, over three nights this weekend — Friday, May 15, Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17. Admission is free for all performances.
Murphy's work centers on themes of repetition, pattern, and recurrence, drawing from nature, daily life, and her own choreographic process. The piece is philosophically grounded in the work of 19th-century Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard, whose writing on repetition and recollection frames the performance's conceptual structure. According to the company, Kierkegaard viewed repetition and recollection as the same movement traveling in opposite directions — repetition as a lived experience unfolding in the present, recollection as a return to what has already occurred.
Murphy is serving as Cohesion Dance Project's guest artist-in-residence for the spring 2026 season. The performances at Cohesion Dance Project's space represent the culmination of her residency.
All three performances are free and open to the public. Cohesion Dance Project has not announced a reservation requirement, but attendees may wish to confirm capacity details directly with the venue.
