The Helena City Commission voted unanimously 4-0 on March 23 to table three related agenda items concerning the proposed Trinity Center development at the applicant's own request. The deferred items include a rezoning consideration, a resolution of intention to annex approximately 44 acres of land identified as Tract A1A1 from Lewis and Clark County, and a preliminary plat covering 44.186 acres for the Trinity Center minor subdivision. All three items will be taken up at the commission's next regular meeting on April 6, 2026.
City staff noted that March 23 was the last date within the standard 35-day preliminary hearing timeline, but clarified that applicants retain the right to request continuances and set their own schedule. The tabling was recommended by staff and supported without objection. No members of the public offered comment on any of the three items before the vote was taken.
Commissioner Reid made the motion, which was seconded and supported by Commissioners Reid, Logan, and Gustafson, along with Mayor Dean. The Trinity Center project would bring roughly 44 acres of unincorporated Lewis and Clark County land into the city limits. Residents interested in the annexation or subdivision proposal will have the opportunity to comment at the April 6 meeting.
