Cohesion Dance Project will present Recollections, an evening-length dance performance by 2026 Spring Artist-in-Residence Nina Murphy, on Sunday, May 17. The performance is free and open to the public.
Murphy's residency centers on the themes of repetition, pattern, and recurrence, drawing from nature, daily life, and her own choreographic history. The work is influenced by the philosophy of Søren Kierkegaard, specifically his exploration of repetition and recollection as the same movement in opposite directions — repetition as a lived experience in the present, and recollection as a return to what has already been lived.
Cohesion Dance Project is based in Helena. The May 17 performance represents the culminating public presentation of Murphy's spring residency with the organization.
