Grammy-winning country artist Travis Tritt will play the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 22, bringing one of country music's most recognizable catalogs to Helena for a live concert. Tickets are priced between $50 and $85.
Tritt, who broke through in the early 1990s as part of what was then called the "Class of '89" alongside artists like Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson, built his reputation on a harder-edged, Southern rock-influenced sound that set him apart from the Nashville mainstream of that era. His hits include "It's a Great Day to Be Alive," "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)," and "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" — songs that have held up well on the touring circuit with audiences who grew up with them.
The fairgrounds on Cascade Avenue has become one of Helena's more reliable mid-sized concert venues, with enough open space to handle a crowd and enough Western atmosphere to fit a country act.
