The Montana Supreme Court has extended the briefing deadline for both the appellants and an intervenor-appellant in Montana Quality Education Coalition v. State of Montana to June 17, 2026. The court issued the extension order in case DA 26-0179.

MTQEC, a coalition of Montana school districts and education groups, is among the parties to the appeal. An intervenor-appellant — a party that joined the case on the appellants' side — was also granted the same extended deadline to prepare, serve, and file their opening briefs.

The extension is procedural and does not indicate any ruling on the substance of the case. Once briefs are filed, the court will set a schedule for the state's response.
