A shed explosion rattled a neighborhood outside Three Forks Thursday afternoon, sending one man to the hospital and scattering debris across the area. Neighbor Andrew Cavanaugh, who lives nearby, said the blast was felt as much as heard. "It definitely scared everyone in the neighborhood," Cavanaugh said. "Everyone could feel it."
Authorities have not publicly identified the hospitalized man or released details on the cause of the explosion. The force of the blast was significant enough to send debris airborne, according to witnesses on scene. Cavanaugh summed up the sentiment of those nearby: "It's a miracle he's alive."
Three Forks is roughly 35 miles west of Helena on Interstate 90. No additional structures were reported damaged, and no other injuries were confirmed as of initial reports. The investigation into the cause of the explosion was ongoing.
