Montana WILD at 2668 Broadwater Ave is running a free wildlife storytime series for pre-K children and younger every Wednesday in October, with sessions on October 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.

The Critter Tales Wildlife Storytime series has a Halloween twist this month, focused on Montana's so-called "spooky" species — think bats, spiders, snakes, and whatever else has a reputation for giving people the creeps. Each session pairs a book reading with a hands-on craft, giving little ones something to take home after the story wraps up.

No registration is required to attend, which makes it an easy drop-in option for parents and caregivers looking for a weekday morning activity. Montana WILD is run by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and regularly offers educational programming tied to the state's wildlife. With two Wednesdays remaining in the October series — the 21st and 28th — families still have time to make it out.
