Montana Book Company on Last Chance Gulch is hosting young adult author Sonido Reyes on Tuesday, July 28, for a conversation with Emmon Rogers, the teen services librarian at Lewis & Clark Library. Admission is free.
Reyes is on a Montana tour and will discuss their work, which includes LGBTQ+ themes aimed at teen readers. The July 28 event will also serve as an early look at Reyes's upcoming novel, To Our Untamed Core, scheduled for release September 22, 2026.
Rogers, who works directly with Helena-area teens through the library's programming, will lead the conversation. The pairing puts a local voice in dialogue with the visiting author — the kind of event that Montana Book Company has used to connect national literary figures to the Helena community.
The event is free and open to the public. Montana Book Company is located on Last Chance Gulch in downtown Helena.
