Montana WILD is hosting a Halloween event Saturday aimed at families who'd rather hold an owl pellet than bob for apples. The facility, located at 2668 Broadwater Avenue, is offering a full afternoon of wildlife-themed programming with live raptor shows, hands-on reptile and amphibian encounters, bat cave walks, and seasonal crafts.

Live raptor programs are scheduled at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., giving visitors two chances to see birds of prey up close. Between shows, staff will be running an owl pellet dissection table — a perennial favorite where kids can pick apart compressed fur and bone to identify what an owl ate. A reptile and amphibian table will let visitors get acquainted with some of Montana's scalier residents.

The event also includes a haunted-style bat cave walk and a photo station, along with craft activities for younger visitors. Montana WILD runs wildlife education programming year-round, but the Halloween event draws a broader crowd by mixing seasonal themes with the facility's core mission of connecting the public to Montana's native species.

Admission details were not specified in the event listing. Families planning to attend should check Montana WILD's website or call ahead to confirm hours and any registration requirements.
