On Broadway, the live music venue at 106 East Broadway, has a stretch of shows lined up this fall that runs from cool jazz to Wisconsin soul-pop to one-man blues — a reminder that Helena punches above its weight when it comes to pulling in working musicians.

The Peripherals, described as Helena's premier cool jazz combo, are anchoring part of the schedule with a set that pulls from Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald alongside original compositions. For Helena jazz fans, the group has become a reliable fixture, offering the kind of sophisticated small-ensemble sound that doesn't often make it to markets this size.

Also coming through is Tae & The Neighborly, a soul-pop R&B group out of Wisconsin with an origin story worth hearing: all five members lived on separate floors of the same apartment building during the pandemic, bonded over baking, and eventually started making music together. They're bringing that communal energy to the On Broadway stage.

Rounding out the run is Dan Henry, a one-man show that replicates the feel of a three-piece band through layered harmonica, rhythm guitar, and a stomp box. Henry covers a wide range of material — Chris Stapleton, John Prine, Fleetwood Mac — alongside original songs. On Broadway is located at 106 East Broadway; show times and ticket information are available through the venue.
