Two of Helena's most recognizable community organizations are settling their differences the old-fashioned way — on stage. The Helena Fairgrounds Foundation is hosting a musical battle between Grandstreet Theatre and 4-H of Lewis and Clark County on Saturday, October 10th at 7:00 PM in Exhibition Hall at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds, and the audience will serve as judge and jury.

The event pits two institutions that most Helena families have some connection to — whether through a kid who spent a summer in Grandstreet's youth programs or a livestock project at the county fair — against each other in what organizers are billing as an epic showdown. The competition format puts the outcome directly in the hands of attendees, though details on how voting will work have not been released.

Both organizations draw from deep wells of local talent and community loyalty, which should make for a genuinely competitive night. Grandstreet, the nonprofit theatre on North Ewing Street, has been a cornerstone of Helena's performing arts scene for decades. The Lewis and Clark County 4-H program counts hundreds of local youth among its participants each year.

The Helena Fairgrounds Foundation, which supports programming and improvements at the county fairgrounds, is organizing the event. Doors and ticket details had not been fully announced as of press time. Residents interested in attending should watch for updates from the Helena Fairgrounds Foundation.
