Montana's Medicaid Work Requirements Take Effect, Seven Years After First Attempt
Montana officially began enforcing work requirements for its Medicaid expansion program on July 1, marking the first time the state has actually implemented community engagement rules that lawmakers first pursued seven years ago. Most adults enrolled in Medicaid expansion must now demonstrate they are working, attending school, or participating in other qualifying activities to remain covered.
