State Picks Laurel for 32-Bed Forensic Psychiatric Hospital Over Local Objections
Montana state officials have made their final call on where to build a long-planned forensic psychiatric facility: Laurel, on the state's south-central edge, roughly 130 miles from Helena. The decision, which came after sustained pushback from neighbors near the proposed site, closes out months of siting debate that drew attention at the Legislature earlier this year.
